Our company name UM is inspired by the micron, which is a unit of measurement equaling to 10^-6. We chose this name to remind ourselves that quality is all in the details – from design thinking, to project management, to construction detail. We constantly ask our team to keep improving, and never be complacent.

Finally, we also believe that design is not just about art and creativity – but is in cases a science that incorporates standards, best practices and rigorous methodology, Choosing the ‘micron’ encapsulates this belief perfectly.
